Федеральный закон о товарных знаках 1946 года [Federal Trademark Act of 1946]. Основной федеральный закон, определяющий правила использования и меры по защите товарных и сервисных знаков. Разрешил компаниям регистрировать товарные знаки, являющиеся их исключительной собственность. Также предназначен для борьбы с недобросовестной конкуренцией [unfair competition] в сфере продвижения товаров и услуг на рынке путем использования схожих товарных знаков.
